We’ve been trusted by leading technology brands such as PayPal, Stanford University, and Wikimedia Foundation as well as category leaders such as Compare Networks, Nelly.com, and Fresh Fitness Food. Calcey is headquartered in Foster City, California, and maintains its global delivery center in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Mangala Karunaratne is the CEO and Founder of Calcey. An entrepreneur through and through, Mangala, drew from his global experience, working for Fortune 1000 technology companies and Silicon Valley internet start-ups as he sought to create a software product engineering company that “got it”. He accounts for over 20 years of experience in the industry and has founded multiple start-ups over the years.

Mangala has served as a board member of SLASSCOM, the apex body for the Sri Lanka’s IT industry and is the Country Ambassador for Seedstars, a global startup accelerator program. Mangala, serves on the board of FARO (Foundation for Advancing Rural Opportunity), a non-profit that actively assists rural youth to find sustainable employment in the outsourcing industry. A self-confessed, “modest adrenaline junkie”, Mangala enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking and most adventure sports, but none more than mentoring young startups and budding entrepreneurs – an adventure often the most fulfilling of all.
